Planning the Collaboration Forum
For 16 years the SLO County Nonprofit Collaboration Forum has provided a venue for networking and learning opportunities, open to anyone in, or interested in, the nonprofit field. We know from your feedback that this is a valuable event, but it’s not the only game in town. The Nonprofit Support Center provides a broad spectrum of trainings and roundtables too, and we recognize that our time will not be efficiently spent duplicating existing efforts. To bring the focus of the Collaboration Forum back on collaboration, our new goal this year is to help form and sustain groups of nonprofits that will work together to improve their efficiency, whether in administration or program delivery—they will have the help and expertise of professional consultants, who will work with each group to help determine their goals and the best way to reach them in order to produce documentable and replicable results. To keep up with the times—and especially with the state of the economy—we know this work is crucial to improve our ability to collaborate to serve our clients and the community at large. The Steering Committee is excited to share more information as it becomes available; if you would like to know more or participate on the committee, please contact Rick or Kara at the United Way office at (805) 541-1234. Thank you for your support as we work to meet the changing needs of the nonprofit community.
