2009 Collaboration Forum Postponed

Thank you for your interest in the 2009 SLO County Nonprofit Collaboration Forum! The Steering Committee has been working hard to plan an event that will meet the current needs of the nonprofit community, and through our discussions over the past few months, has identified a new model that we hope will strengthen our community even more effectively.

While past events have focused on workshops and sessions that build skills—and we know these are important—the Nonprofit Support Center is increasing their local offerings in these areas, and we wish to avoid duplicating services. Rather, to bring the focus of the Collaboration Forum back on collaboration, the goal this year is to help form and sustain groups of nonprofits that will work together to improve their efficiency, whether in administration or program delivery. Professional consultants will work with each group to help determine their goals and the best way to reach them, in order to produce documentable and replicable results. Though this is a major shift for the Forum, we feel that it is increasingly important - especially with the state of the economy - to improve our ability to work together to serve our clients and the community at large.

The Steering Committee is still in the early stages of planning, but is excited to share more information as it becomes available; if you would like to know more or participate on the committee, please contact Rick or Kara at the United Way office at (805) 541-1234. Thank you for your patience and support as we work to meet the changing needs of the nonprofit community!

Thank you to our Forum sponsors!
